The Da Vinci Code is too much for the BBC

If you really want to look behind some of the well stitched webs of life and see the truth, for whatever truth may be, you're in for a very very long journey with no real return. Obviously, any step you take in life has no turning back. You take a step forward, it's a step for experience. So I guess, take your steps well.

I watched the Da Vince Code and thought, now that's all lacking cohesion. Now, I'm not a religious person and I don't think Jesus needs and support. I feel, even if Jesus was married and Jesus had children, it doesn't really damage or change the position he has in the world.

Yet a lot of the film is hoping, too much, what's the word? conspiracy and little in the way of absolution.

It starts with Symbolism and how symbols mean something different in different cultures. Now the belief is that the Constantine, the editor of the Bible was pagan and his views were paganistic. Therefore the writer, the theorist take a leap of death and feel all the symbology around this Jesus theory is built on Pagan symbols.

Why? It could be symbolic in many other ways and after all, what is symbolism? It's just a means of communication and how quickly can the semantics of symbols, words, culture change so quickly.

Then they take the Sang Real to mean royal blood. They take this, (the surname Sang Real) as being a creation of the Knights Templar to indicate the Jesus blood line.

Now, I'm not totally damning it but I feel the writers could have been a little more concrete, a little more solidifying, hell, they could have been a lot more concrete and solidific with their claims and finding evidence.

History is a dodgy place and what can we do but make stories of it. We create stories, very much like the BBC did with no evidence at all. Arsenal loan money to a club (very much like many clubs do) and the BBC focus on Arsenal. Now I know the BBC are Liverpool friendly and have been for many years. Back in the day Liverpool used to be good to the BBC during the time of the European Glories. Now this isn't a slur on Liverpool but the BBC do take aim and fire now surrounding this.

They create stories. For a programme like Newsnight to do this is laughable. Insulting to the establishment. The corporation is dismantling itself from the inside by focussing on sensationalising the News. Of course there are viewers with intelligence who want an Intelligent (listen up Newsnight) account of a story, NOT and insult to the intelligence of the masses. I watch Newsnight but of course I make my own decision on these events but let me say this. Last night's account by Newsnight was nothing short of laughable. I'll be the first to question Arsenal on this but the fact we've made it public we are associated with Beveren, probably on a month by month basis since 2001 should really question the journalistic capabilities at Newsnight.

Creating stories is not what Newsnight is about. It's about being informative and slightly entertaining with an assault of information but last night they were on the attack. Cultural correspondent extraordinary Kirsty Wark was on the defensive very quickly and I think they expected David Mellor to speak against Arsenal but he didn't.

Another twist to this is, numerous Arsenal fans and other neutral Independent Supporters Associations were contacted by News Night but they were asked not to attend the show after it became apparent they were not prepared to speak against Arsenal when there was no evidence the club had done anything wrong.

It is all laughable but it's more egg on the BBC's face.

As I said at the beginning of this, seeking out the truth, does not mean we are seeking out aims to point fingers and accuse. We're seeking to understand the people around us.

This is where Newsnight very quickly failed.
